Burj Al Arab Hotel Dubai
Burj Al Arab Hotel Dubai Reviews
Mar 26, 2007
The best hotel in Dubai and possibly the most expensive hotel in the world is the Burj al Arab. The hotel is built to resemble a giant sail and sits on a man-made island just off Jumerah Beach in Dubai. It is linked by an underwater glass "elevator" to the mainland lobby. Just to get into the lobby at the hotel itself costs $50 USD (for serious gawkers only). A room complete with full-time butler will set you back $1000 USD if you find it on the cheap, and $7500 USD if you want a nice view. Oh, and that come with a complementary helicopter ride from the airport, if you want. The hotel is prime, prime, prime, but if you ask me it's all way over the top. It seems like things are priced just so that you can go back home and brag to you Hollywood want-to-be friends how much you spent. It does have a great location (you would expect that, with those prices). It's just down the road from the very nice Madanaat Mall which has been built in traditional Arab architecture and has a great artificial canal that weaves through the shops with views of the Burj. The hotel is also close to the Mall of the Emirates where you can ski and play in the snow indoors, while the sun blazes at 120 degrees outside.

Jul 24, 2006The Burj al Arab is the tallest and most luxerious suite-only hotel of the world (self-)awarded with 7 stars. The smallest suite offers a space of 170m² and is furnished as luxury as possible. The "normal" Deluxe suite offers an entrance area, bar, large work desk with free WLAN internet connection (and a Compaq laptop computer for free use) and a fax machine, sitting area with 42'' plasma-TV, living room with TV set, eating area, fully equipped kitchen, baggage store room, masterbed room, bathroom with bath tub (whirlpool) and shower + 2 washbasins. You have 3-times laminated wall-to-wall windows (nobody can look in) with a marvelous view over the sea. All in all you have a minimum of 3 TV-sets and 3 minibars with an good and international selection. To darken the room you can use the electronical curtains operated by an multifunctional remote-control which is also used for the TV set. The service is unrivalled at all. You get your own butler who is responsible for all your requests and whishes. The ambience is great and you'll enjoy your stay there. Part of the Dubai - Summer 2006 travel blog |

…come to symbolise Dubai the same way the Clock Tower does for London or the Statue of Liberty does for NYC, none other than the Burj Al Arab hotel. Designed to resemble a billowing sail, the hotel soars to a height of 321 metres dominating the Dubai coastline. And obviously, for such a high price hotel, one would expect a heavy tag as well. And rightfully so... a night in the deluxe… Full day sightseeing in Dubai |

hotel, Burj Al Arab . We couldn’t get very close, due to a pesky security gate. I had to photograph it from outside, and noticed several other tourists doing “drive-by shootings” as well. Then the driver took us part way out on the man-made… From beach to ski slopes in 20 minutes. |
