Buregdžinica is a common name for a kind of restaurant in Bosnia where burek is eaten. Burek is a popular food/ meal in every Bosnian home.

Buregdžinica " Rođeni" is located in the old town, on the right bank of the river Neretva in Mostar. It is in the street that will take you direct to the famous Old Bridge in the city. When you are in Mostar, you can walk from the railway or bus station, which are both on the left bank of the river, cross the Musala Bridge and turn on the left in the first street that will take you here.

"Rođeni " is a nickname of the players the city's FC" Velež", which is in the heart of every citizen. Rođeni in translation is something like native, own- like a brother.

Here you can try all kind of pitas, but one is special and here in Mostar eaten often then in other Bosnian cities. It is called buredžik. Buredžik is pita with filling of minced meat covered with sour milk or yogurt in addition of minced garlic. Garlic in yogurt is special only for this kind of pita and the most used spice in the Mediterranean cuisine. Buredžik is the most expensive kind of pita which you can find also in other restaurants, but "Rođeni" is one of the most visited of this kind restaurants in the city, offering always fresh pita with an appetite stimulating smell.

I believe it is not necessary to mention that many foreign tourists, who have never heard for this food before, liked it very much from the first bite. The combination of meat and yogurt fills every stomach with proteins and portions are big enough. If you choose another kind of pita, you will normally be offered a cup of yogurt or a juice, or a gratis glass of water. Here the food is clean, made and served only by women and through an open door you can see all proces done in another room. The place is cozy with enough place for guests to sit and eat inside and outside of the restaurant. If you do not have time you can order a burek to go.
