This hostel hosts everyone from locals living in car to Pacific Crest Trail hikers! Sep 01, 2017
Even though the historic Lucas house is Bend's first brick house, and was built in 1910, this hostel opened up only 7 months ago (Jan 2017). Two rich Oregonians decided to invest in a hostel and rather than choose overcrowded Portland, they went for something a lot less quieter.

Today, Bunk + Brew has grown into famous spot. It's a regular for hikers of the Pacific Crest Trail who have various options: they pay $50 for a night in a bunk bed, a $15 "dirtbag" deal where they can shower, use internet and get a complimentary beer but leave before sundown, or pay $20 and sleep on a hammock outside!

Yes, the most interesting part for me in this hostel was the clientele: everyone from folks living in their car who need a shower or need to do laundry, to a more gentrified crowd on roadtrips, hikers or even people staying here temporarily for a job interview.

There's free breakfast - everything's provided and you can cook what you want.

Great wifi, a TV room that has HBO, netflix, everything.

The bedrooms are comfy although a bit stuffy. Ample locker space.

The only 2 areas I'd "fault" it is only 2 bathrooms (toilet attached) and $50 per night I thought was quite steep.

But it's so popular it seems the formula is working!
