Bunbury is a quaint coastal city 2 hours south of Perth and about and hour north of Margaret River. There's plenty of shopping, cafes, restaurants and the best aspect, the beach and harbour.
Koombana bay harbour is host to the Dolphin Discovery Centre which monitors the pod of dolphins that live in the Bay and surrounding waters. They also run interactive cruises if you want to get up close to the dolphins. Koombana bay isn't the nicest beah but is perfect for children and families and is packed in the summer. The nicer beach is the 'back beach', 15 minutes walking distance from the city. It's beautiful, some days good for surf and body boarding, other days perfect for just floating around. There's a native wildlife park - 'Big Swamp' also, to get up close to some Kangaroos and other native creatures.

As I've mentioned, I swing over to Bunbury reasonably often, so I've had a good look around the place. I guess things are happening in the city, there are tons of people moving to Western Australia, not only from the rest of the country but also from around the world.Anyway, after arriving back in town we still found we have a couple of days to kill before heading to Bali. Margaret suggested we have a bit of a drive around Bunbury's growing suburbia.NZ is getting a lot of these Au...

yeah, i know, i know...it's been a while. i could partially justify the gap between blogs by saying that, despite the fact that i had free internet at jen's and plenty of time on my hands, i was constantly in good company with places to go and people to see, and its hard to dip out of good living to reflect on that good living - and i can partially attribute my lack of writing to my immediately being sucked into the hustle of the western world (even if my existence in the western world ...
