Fascinating Buddha Temple Sep 17, 2010
Buddha Tooth Relic Temple is located in Chinatown, easily reachable by using MRT and walking a few steps.

I visited this temple after I had a look at the Hindu temple Sri Mariammam, which is located just a few steps away from this one.

Interesting how close the different cultures are to each other, but hey, this is Chinatown :-)

The temple itself has five levels and a basement, and has just been completed in 2007, so it's actually a very new one.

The entry to the temple is free and the things to have a look at inside are just overwhelming: all walls and the ceiling are decorated with different kind of symbols and figures. The most fascinating thing is for sure the two meter solid gold stupa.

But you also see lots of lanterns and walls decorated with hundreds of small figures.

You are free to take photos of everything, that's simply great.

I highly recommend this temple when you are visiting Chinatown.
