There were three adults traveling to Budapest on our vacation and we were really looking forward to lots of sightseeing, good food and little care. We've heard about www.BudapestResources.com from friends who've been to Budapest and opted to rent an apartment rather than a hotel. For three adults it too seemed to make sense. This site offers a good selection of downtown, furnished and equipped vacation rental properties and we ended up with a 2 bedroom just off the Oktogon that was near everything! We paid under 100 euros (which came to 30/person), had a great kitchen and bathroom even a washing machine. That came handy by the end of the week and a bit of rain. From now on, i'll look at apartments rather than hotels, it's a better deal.
