Budapest Keleti Pu Station Reviews
budapest keleti pu station Mar 07, 2009
budapest keleti pályaudvar (often abbreviated budapest keleti pu), hungarian for Budapest eastern railway station is the largest among the three main railway stations (together with nyugati pályaudvar and déli pályaudvar) in budapest. It can be found in the 8th district (józsefváros), on baross square.
the building was constructed in eclectic style between 1881 and 1884 and was one of the most modern railway stations of europe in that time.
it is very beautiful inside the central station, with marble floors and natural light coming from the ceilings in daylight. it is still old europe compared to the other central stations in the continent, international tickets are still handwritten instead of machine printed ones.
you cannot go inside the tracks as there are people controlling if you have tickets or not, if you are waiting for someone, you have to wait at the giant screen at the entrance of the central station.
