Buckeye Vacation Guide
The town of Buckeye, AZ is definetly all about small town living. With an area (within the municipal limits) of about 375 sq miles, and 660 sq miles incorporated, its a wonder where all the people are. With so much open land it is bound to grow.
The small town atmospere where everyone knows everyone and there is a smile around every corner is ever-present in Buckeye. As a traditional farming community settled in 1877, this is still a predominate occupation for the area. Mainly corn, varieties of hay, dairy cattle, and some combine work.
For those who aren't farmers, the largest employers in the area are the school district, the Palo Verde Nuclear Plant, and of course- the local Walmart.
It is a simple life. Very few street signs, overall maintained dirt roads, outdoor activities, local block parties, rodeos, demolition derbys, and the fall harvest festival.
An escape from the daily hustle and bustle of downtown Phoenix, but close enough not to miss out on all the amenities that a large town can provide.
