When exploring St. John there are so many wonderful photo opportunities. Annaberg gives you the Views as well as the old island history and it is close to beautiful Maho Bay and Cinnamon Bay. There are suri buses that can take you from the Ferry Dock to the walk up trail. They will stop a other spots on the island to take pictures as well. Make sure to bring water and snacks with you as there is nothing on site to provide refreshments.

While on the island of St. John in the USVI, I took a break from the white sandy beaches to explore some of the more historical aspects of this beautiful island. Located on the island are the remnants of Annaberg Sugar Plantation. In it's prime the plantation produced not only sugar but also molasses and rum. Today several of the buildings infrastructures are still in tact. My favorite building was the windmill? Or maybe the rum mill was my favorite? :) From the plantation I was able to snap some amazing shots of nearby islands. They had a diagram posted showing us all of the islands in our view.

It doesn't take much time to go through the entire compound but be sure to take some time to soak in the scenery. The island is just a 30 minute water taxi ride from the island of St. Thomas.
