Bryce Canyon, a wonderful place to spend an afternoon Oct 08, 2014
We were going north on US 89 and we turned right (east) at the beginning of UT 12. If you have time drive all of UT 12 because it is all beautiful. We turn right (south) on UT 63 to Bryce Canyon but first slow down for Bryce Canyon City. I advise you to get supplies earlier, but get them here if you need something. Utah 12 is beautiful, but there is not much services on this route.

At the Park pay your fee. (If doing a lot of Nat. Parks get a yearly park pass instead. If you are over 63 years get a senior pass that is good for life.) Bryce Canyon is not a canyon and the Park freely admitts that. But Bryce Canyon N. Park is very beautiful and unique to the world. They have a hudge amout of colored pinicals (large rock polls) and the scene changes from overlook to overlook. It is a wonderful place.

Continue east on UT 12 and you get to the beautiful Escalante river area where I used to camp freely, Now its a N. Park and no camping.
