Brown's Hotel

I recommend this hotel to a lot of my Russian clients who come to visit me in London.

Its very modern and the rooms very spacious and therapeutic.

The hotel is in the heart of Mayfair, close to Hyde Park so location wise it is really fantastic to get to any of the hotspots in London.

Great food and service. Try their outstanding peppermint tea and delicious complimentary poppy seed cookies.

This was one of London't grande old dames,I went to in the 1970's, then returned in 2007 only to find it looked a bit run down, but preserved its graciousness and grand style of yore. The rooms are huge, the furniture is original period pieces, the carpets looked oldish. The entranceway is unpresuming, the staff is not what it once was, maybe everybody aged or is now middle eastern-excuse the bias. It is overpriced for what it is. I would not return again, though the location is exceptional, you step outside and bump into Piccadilly Circus just about. But there are new hotels now. However, check, because they may have refurbished, and that would make it wonderful again. I love the grande dame, so many memories. They used to get theatre tickets in a jiffy, don't know now.
