Brooklyn Museum Reviews
Brooklyn Museum Oct 08, 2011
On a rainy day in July, with me having a day off from work I went to the Brooklyn Museum to check out two exhibits: (1) The Latino List by Timothy Greenfield-Sanders; and (2) The Dinner Party by Judy Chicago.
First, The Latino Exhibit focused on prominent Latinos, their culture and accomplishments. A kiosk with artists, such as Pitbull, John Leguizamo to Supreme Justice Sonia Sotomayor discussing their cultural experiences was inspiring. The Dinner Party Exhibit by Judy Chicago is located on the 4th Floor, in the Elizabeth Sackler Center for Feminist Art. A triangle table adorned with 39 place settings, each celebrating a significant woman is something that has to been seen in person to be appreciated.
The Brooklyn Museum is located next to the Brooklyn Botanic Garden and on the same route as the Brooklyn Public Library, so plan your time accordingly since there is alot to see and do. The museum has a cafe and restaurant where you can get a bite to eat. Several food vendors can also be found outside the museum selling snacks.
