An amazing view of Nature in the Urban Jungle May 26, 2012
If you want to find a place of Zen in the midst of chaos and crazy, then hit the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. The beautiful greenery, the beautiful colors of all the flowers, the Japanese garden, the open garden area where people can just lay out, it's all so much beauty to take in in this concrete jungle. There are better times to go than others like the start of spring when the leaves are growing, the cherry blossoms and plum blossoms start to sprout. The summer is when the Roses really shine in the Rose Garden, but the Japanese Garden is great all year. You can sit around the pond and watch the koi fish, ducks, and turtles swim and the occasional crane drop in. It’s truly an amazing place and it’s right next to the Brooklyn Museum.

Nature at its Finest! Oct 09, 2011
The Brooklyn Botanic Garden is an ideal place to be on any sunny afternoon you find yourself in the Borough of Brooklyn. I started my visit at the Japanese Hill-and-Pond Garden, where visitors can find several Kio fish that will keep you captivated for hours. My next stop was at the Steinhardt Conservatory, where I found the Bonsai Museum that has several beautifully sculptured plants on display. The Tropical Rain Forest, Desert, Aquatic House and Water Temperate Exhibits are educational and truly eye catching. The Brooklyn Botanic Garden does offer free tours on weekdays and weekends. So, pack a lunch and get ready to stroll through this magnificent garden. Allow three to four hours if you want to truely view the entire gardens.

brooklyn botanic garden May 02, 2011
this weekend i spend my day in the brooklyn botanic garden.

as an adult you have to pay 10 dollars. they also have student deals.

Since I was there when an actual cherry blossom festival was going on they charged more. 15 dollars for adults, 10 dollars for students. but the price was still okay.

I liked the botanic garden very much. they have beautiful oak trees, ponds, different conservatories ( dessert plants; tropical plants..). there was also a bonsai exhibiton which I found very interesting and took a lot of pictures.

if you decide to go there ( on a normal day; without any special events) 3 to 4 hours should be sufficient i guess. I personally spent the whole day there; from 10 am to alsmost 6 pm because they offered a lot of performances etc.
