Where do I begin?? First and foremost, the room was absolutely filty. The mattresses were boxsprings on top of broken frame beds with dirty trundel mattresses beneath them. We had the "executive" "top of the line" room with a crusty, rotten microwave and a mini-fridge that was seriously unsanitary. The room was on the 5th floor, but since there was a restaurant street-level and the reception on the next floor, the room was on the 7th floor and the hotel had NO lift (elevator) and we had to climb winding stairways including one that was similar to what you'd use to access an attic. The noise from the street below was unbearable. We had a FUTON in our room that appeared not to have been cleaned in forever by the looks of the cover and the inter-woven hairs and blood stains. When we spoke to the manager about our concerns, he just stated that "London was not America."
The only positive thing I can say was it was centrally located so you had plenty to keep you from staying in your room (which is a good thing) and the bathroom seemed newly remodeled (which only made the rest of the facilities seem even more dreadfully dated, dingy and unclean in contrast).
I could go on and on, but strongly encourage you to check out the attached photos and consider somewhere else to stay. We could only stand one night and chose to pay a penalty to cut our stay short so we could stay somewhere that was clean. We went to stay at a large, chain hotel and paid 62 GBP a NIGHT less.
