A short night. We got up at 3:30 AM *shudder* to reach the crater in time for the sunrise. A ramp close to our hotel led down into the Caldera. Our rented pocket lamps came in handy since the sky above us was pitch dark. Also it turned out that bringing some warm clothes had been a wise decison! Bromo, the most popular and well known of East Java's tourist attractions. It was my second trip to here, (August 2006), when the weather was sooo cool in early morning (i didnt expect that it would be that cold..i was freezing and decided to buy gloves and another scarft) and warm in the afternoon, I must get started by three o'clock in the morning to get the best sunrise view, but...it is worth it.. magnificant view :))

Leaving Jakarta in November 16, 2006 night, we took flight to Surabaya with airasia airlines before a rented car brought us to Bromo mountain area. this was sleepless or sleep just in car trip! as we arrived in Bromo about at 2-3 a.m, we were just putting all our stuffs at hotel and rushing to reach Pananjakan to catch the sunrise.
