Broadway Hotel and Hostel New York

I stayed here for about 4 days and it was worth it. If your someone who just wants to enjoy New York this is a good hostel to stay at. We didn't live here, we just needed a place to sleep. The elevator is pretty small to fit luggage in and is quite slow, but it did the job. We shared a room co-ed, it had 6 beds in a small room, the floors were a bit cut up and bunk beds against the wall. The washrooms are in the hall, two on each floor I believe. There is paid internet area on the ground floor. Also a fridge and stool and table area. Also a lounge couch area with a tv. We used the elevator to go up and the stairs to go down. :) It's faster to just walk down and we were tired after walking all day so elevator it was. We met some great people in our room! A girl from Japan, a guy from California, two girls from Maryland, a couple from Holland. A variety of people with interesting stories. :) The hostel is a minute away from the subway. Though a bit up in Manhattan we didn't have a problem because the subway was right there. The area was safe and close to small stores and restaurants. The people at the front desk were friendly as well. This was my first major trip so I was all scared that people would steal our luggage, but we were fine, I overreacted, there are lockers though. We just kept our luggage under/beside the bunk bed. There was a sink and mirror in the room but since the bed was so close to it it was hard to get to it.

if hostel, it's decent for you, you have one on 20 street and 7/8 av for around $30/night/person. just double-bed room available for little more $.
