Brnistra, Botnc. Dalmatia Reviews
BRNISTRA May 01, 2008
There are many flowers, but there is only one yellow like a sun and tight like rope. It's brnistra, or Spartium junceum L. As the matter a fact, it is not a little flower, it's shrub. Brooms tolerate poor soils and growing conditions. In cultivation they need little care, though they need good drainage and perform poorly on wet soils. They are widely used as ornamental landscape plants and also for wasteland reclamation and sand dune making stability.
It has apparently leafless stems that in spring and summer are covered in profuse golden-yellow flowers. In late summer, its pea-pod like seed capsules burst open, often with an audible pop. It makes a shrub about 1–3m tall, rarely to 4m. It is also the hardiest broom.
If there is a fire, shrub of broom will burn like shrub from hell, cos' it's full of oil.
Do not take it and keep it at home in vasa, cos' you will get headache.
