After tidying up a few loose ends, we set out for the BC Ferry Terminal at Departure Bay. Although we expected to be on 3:00pm ferry, the ferry corporation had dispatched the old Queen of Nanaimo to run an overload trip at 12:45pm. I went to Vancouver for a legal education seminar, but that did not stop me from exploring the great city.

I had the pleasure of visiting Port Alberni British Columbia this summer as some friends of mine were looking for a good hike.  We decided on hiking the Della Falls trail, about 12 miles each way to the base of the falls.  Not too terribly hard, but you should be in shape before you attempt it as there are some rough areas and it is a decent distance.Port Alberni is located about an hour or so drive from Naniamo British Columbia and is accessible from the mainland North America only...

Hi all and welcome to our travel blog.  Rick and I are leaving for South Africa June 13 from Vancouver and we will be on a Safari for the following 2 months. But first we are headed to Regina. Jan 13 - Mar 7 2007. From -30C to 30C the next day... One $800 airpass = Kelowna BC (Big White), Miami FL, New York NY, Boston MA, Miami FL (again), Key West FL, St John's NFLD, Chicago IL, Whitehorse YK, San Francisco CA, (Vancouver: brief visit home for Chinese New Year's and to unload winter gear), Los Angeles CA, Phoenix/Tucson AZ and too many YYZ visits.

So, theres a lot to tell! Our first full day in Vancouver we decided to visit Granville island (which isnt actually an island at all, just an outcrop from the mainland). We decide to walk as it didnt look that far on the map, we didnt realise until too late that it would involve walking over the overpass which went right over the market and a good way onto the other side with no way of getting off. Just a few pictures I took on my lunch hour downtown Victoria, Vancouver Island, B.C., Canada. The first pictures of the year. It was great just to meander about on this cool crisp January day. The winter pansy in this picture is called Johnny Jump up.

Lori and I left Vancouver International Airport on May 12th at about 8:00 at night. Saying bye to our families was really hard, especially to my twin sister. But it was hard to be too sad because we were so excited! the flight was about 9 and a half hours long and it was actually a really nice flight, each seat had a tv infront of it and there were a ton of movies and tv shows to choose from.
