Around the block in Victoria

I love living in this city, I am very lucky.  There is so much beauty that surrounds this city, and Vancouver Island in general.  I work right downtown (first job), close to the inner harbour.  There is much crammed into a block, lots to see, and many things to do.  There is the Greyhound bus station, goes anywhere pretty much (review to come later).  Then there are restaurants about every half block, government street had lots to see, Empress hotel, and ...

A FLIGHT PLAN FOR LOVE
posted by:
Sep 21, 2007
Love does move in  mysterious ways. The dream of passionate lover came true when Philippine Airlines sealed a 12-year relationship between two highschool sweet hearts during a Vancouver-Las Vegas flight on September 21, 2007.   It all started when the airlines Customer Relations office received an email from Oliver Agala of Vancouver, Canada last September 19. What was expected to be a usual letter of complaint turned out to be one of the greatest favors a passenger could ask from...

The city of totems
posted by:

On Sunday February 26th, 2008 I figured I would take a trip to Duncan.  I always rush up and down the Island, without really stopping anywhere along the way to look any more.  So I figured because it is BC's 150th anniversay I would start being a tourist in my own neck of the woods, starting in Duncan the city of Totems.   There are nearly 80 totem poles in Duncan, both downtown and along a half of a  kilometer section of the Trans-Canada Highway.   There are 4...

Wow, my trip in China was something I'll never forget ... but as I look out the Hong Kong Oasis airline and fly over Northern-Mid-End of Vancouver Island I am suddenly reminded of the everlasting beauty and tranquility of Canada, my birth place!  I must be getting home-sick for as much as I want to return to Asia, I now look forward to my new venture into Western Canada with my sister and her family who are keen on showing me various places around their hometown ... I got off the H...

Arrival to Canada being a bit Freaky!

9:30am: Got things ready for departure and went to the Princess representatives at our hotel to be told to come back at 11:30 because the ship was delayed coming into port due to stormy weather out of San Francisco. She said our ship would still be leaving on time but we wouldn't be transferred to it until about 1pm. So we used the internet and had a $6 bagel in the hotel restaurant. 11:30am: We were able to get our Princess cruise card and check in for embarkation at the hotel "Princess room...

Ankunft in Vancouver
posted by:
Aug 30, 2007 - Jun 20, 2008

Being home is the strangest thing. My parents are away on a cruise right now and my older brother was on a fishing trip so I got a ride home from Janelle. Driving down the streets of Vancouver, the first thing I noticed was the incredible amount of street lights that lined the roads. It was just lamp after lamp after lamp. It seems like such a trivial thing, but it's what stuck out the most to me.I got home to a big empty house. My dog was at my Uncle's and I was supposed to pick her up when ...

Vancouver is a really beautiful city to visit.  This is one of my favorite cities in all of Canada. The Pacific Northwest will take your breath away because all of it's mountains, lakes, rivers and wide open spaces. Vancouver is a place that never sleeps, there is something always going on. Something’s to see and do in and around Vancouver: View the city from the Vancouver Lookout Tower, see Stanley Park, hike Lynn Canyon, walk across a swinging bridg...

This is actually the fun part when we joined TravBuddy at a later date, I mean when a whole bunch of buddies had signed up before us - we're kind of having this urge to backtrack and fine-tune our memory to gather as much detailed information as we could about our past travel experience to turn it into a journal and have it shared by this community. Well, I guess another motivation that could push us even more is the notion that we are into writing and just love doing it. Speaking for my...

Vancouver, Canada -› -› ...
So in my other travel blog I talk about my Japanese friend Tomoko. In March of last year she came out here and stayed a week with us so we decided to go to Vancouver and show her the touristy sights. There was about 9 of us so we were like a big mob. We did all of the same stuff as the last two Vancouver trips. But this time we went to Canada Place as well. We always feel dumb getting people to take pictures of us at places because they ask where we're from and we say Maple Ridge and they sou...
