I’ll happily say this is the best hostel I’ve ever stayed in, and by some distance too. I stayed in a six bed dorm for $28 per night, but a cheap 30 bed dorm is available at $21 per night if staying for more than one night. Cheaper rates are available for longer stays.

The bed was very comfortable, and solid, so it didn’t rock when the person on the upper bunk got in; for once I had an undisturbed night’s sleep. The bathrooms are plentiful, with an excess of toilets and showers if anything. The kitchen is huge and is well stocked with facilities. The hostel seems to employ more staff than there are guest, so everything is spotlessly clean.

So what else makes this place stand out? It has free internet and WiFi; a pool and lounge area for those wanting a lazy day; and a brilliant bar with the cheapest drinks I could find anywhere in the city, though this is the reason for the uncompromising policy of strictly no alcohol to be brought into the premises; and a free pool table and fuseball with frequent competitions. It really is well catered to meet other travellers.

Location is a big plus too. It’s just a short walk up the road from the train and bus station, and just a five minute walk to the city’s main attraction, the XXXX Brewery. It’s about a ten minute walk into the main city area, and equidistant to the museums and art galleries across the river.

I hate Brisbane, and this didn't help my like for it Mar 25, 2011
I hate Brisbane, I have no idea, but it's just my least favorite place at the moment, and it seems that every place in Bribane I hate as well, meaning, yes, I hated this backpackers.

I found that it was all aged 23ish - 27ish and they were either English or Irish. A big appeal of this hostel is that there is a really cheap bar located in it.

I think it's a little too expensive for what you get, if the location was better I could maybe understand the price, but since it's about half a km from Roma Street station, away from the City, i doesn't exactly have anything going for it, except Coles is a 2 minute walk away.

The only reason I chose this hostel was that it was one of, well one hostel that has long term luggage storage in Brisbane. This tells you a lot about Brisbane I think, but yea. I didn't choose it for any other reason. Wouldn't stay here again, unless I was in a pinch.

Nothing overly wrong with this place though, just not my scene.

Pretty good all around. A little bit of a walk into the city, (10 mins) but not bad. The pool and the bar were nice (cheap drinks!). The room was supposedly air-conditioned but I couldn't tell. The biggest downside was the bed. It wasn't very comfy at all just a foam mattress. The shower areas were co-ed with private stalls but in the stalls there was nowhere to put your stuff so it would stay dry. Kinda sucky. Everything was clean and the staff were pretty helpful when needed...if you could get a chance to talk to them...the desk was always very busy!
