Dances from the Altitude – Brisas del Titicaca / Titicaca Breezes Jul 30, 2008
This Place is located near downtown. It might not be the most beautiful area, but once you go inside, everything changes. It used to be small, but now it’s big enough for 700 people. For me it has one of the best shows in town.
This place offers a show which is a complete journey across Peru, with live music and dances. The journey includes the isles of Titica Lake, different towns in Highlands like: Puno, Huancayo, Cuzco, Ayacucho; moving then to the coast and finally ending with the Norther Marinera. The huayno dances (huayno is typical from the Highlands) are full of energy and vitality, in the other hand the marinera shows seduction and elegance. The band is really good and the singers do a great job! The dancers are just amazing and put all their heart in their dances. Their customs are very colorful. Every single dance is a piece of art and you can be disappointed with their great performance. The tables are very well located, so everybody would be able to appreciate the show. It doesn’t matter if you are in the first road or not. But I recommend to sit in the front. While you are enjoying the show, you can taste different cocktails (with Pisco or other liquor) and also typical dishes. They are from Puno. There is a host who introduces every dance and gives you an explanation about what it’s about and which region it belongs. Among dances, the orchestra plays dance music, so people will join the party. After the show is over, they will keep on playing music so you can keep on dancing as much as you want. If you want to come, you won’t regret it. Just 1 recommendation: Buy the tickets in advance; otherwise you might not be able to find them. You can buy there in the supermarket too, so there’s no excuse to miss a high quality show! Part of the Meeting travbuddies :) travel blog |

…actividades:
Other activities in Lima |

We had
already plans for going to “Brisas del Titicaca” a peña, which has an
incredible colorful show with typical dances and customs; besides a band which
plays dance music. I’ll write a review of that. Anyway, I worked during the day
and agreed to meet Francois at 5pm in Barranco… Enjoying a Peruvian Folklore night with Francois – so much fun! |
