The worst trip and train ride of my life was the one from Rome to Brindisi.  Jesse and I frequently took the overnight trains, instead of having to spend an extra night in town, and up until this point had had no difficulties.  We got really unlucky, because we did not reserve couchettes, or bunks in the cabin.  When we boarded the train, we did not even have a reserved spot to sit.  The train was so full of passengers, that we had to sit in the isle outside the compartmen...

So apparently you can't take a ferry from Greece to Croatia. Instead, you ferry to Italy and then to Croatia. After saying goodbye to all the people I met at the Pink Palace, I sadly left last night with a group of five others all heading to Italy. Our ferry was from Corfu to Brindisi and left at 12:30am. Since we're all backpacking and cheap, we got "deck" seats which means an airplane type seat (aka not condusive to sleeping). We wandered around the boat looking for somewhere more comfort...

Our drive from the UK through Europe to Italy and Greece, and island hopping in Greece before taking a slow drive home via Eastern Europe.
