Both fun and impressive Oct 04, 2013
Somewhat unheralded outside of Yorkshire, Brimham Rocks are weird and wonderful rock formations that manage to tick both the aesthetically pleasing (because they're unusual) and fun (kids and adults who are kids at heart can clamber all over them) boxes.

As if the rocks themselves weren't enough, you get the immediate surroundings of the wild heather moorland, which is classic Yorkshire landscape, and terrific views over nearby Nibberdale.

The rocks are somewhat tricky to get to without your own set of wheels, but reachable by bus. The rocks are a very worthwhile detour from some of North Yorkshire's other main attractions.
