6am-We frantically ran into Liverpool street station and went straight to the ticket booth to purchase our tickets! The guy behind the counter tells us that trains to Brighton don't leave from Liverpool. Damn. Oh well, the tube is open so hopped onto the circle line and went to King's Cross. First we called Louise to tell her to come meet us as we were supposed to be seeing her the next day. She decided to give it a pass. I mean her sister is supposed to be having a kid any mintue now...I gue...

So we get to Liverpool Street station and head to the ticket booths. We ask the man we want to go Brighton, but he tells us it only goes from Kings Cross, London Bridge or Victoria. So we get on the train an head to Kings Cross as its the closest station to go to!
We get to kings cross just past 6am. Went to the ticket machines to get our tickets. It was about 16quid return, 11quid for me and Lori as we have railcards! yay for us! hehehhe!
Got our tickets and the train was due to leave at 6...

I opened my eyes. The tiny voice had been right...
Ouch. No, really man, Ouch. I got up. Ouch. I put the kettle on, and peeked outside the window. Really, really, ouch.
I had three cups of coffee at breakfast and started to feel human. Actually, the picture on my profile is cup of coffee number four. Feeling a little fortified, we went exploring. We decided against the Pavillion, and just wandered about in the sunshine with me dri...

BRIGHTON PIER: The New brighton Promenade was built in 1867, its was opend on the 7th september, 1867 and completed on the 9th April 1868. It was 550 feet long and 70 feet wide. The pier was closed in 1923 and four years later the Wallasey Corporation became its owner and re-opened it with its own entrance from the promenade. The whole of the pier was rebuilt in 1931 at a cost of £45,000. Bargin!! There are good reason why you have to visit Brighton Pier, firstly, its free!! always good!...

"Oh I do love to be beside the seaside, I doooo love to be besides the seeeeea..."I love Brighton. I often refer to it as my 'soul city' when waxing lyrical, and while my connection with the place is strong I know I have not made the most of living near such a cosmopolitan, vibrant place during my time on the south coast of England. I have been land-locked in Birmingham now for exactly a decade, but always, always return to Brighton's pebbled shores whenever possible. The ma...

Brighton... my heart beats faster when I think of it, it was so great!
The sea, the beach and parties! Two days to experience the town and I felt in love with it... I will come back there in summer!
The beach is different than the French ones where I always go (Morbihan, west of France in Britany), with pebbles instead of rocks. All along, there are shops and discos and a place with artists. The landscape is sliced in two. The West Pier, after several fires, is like a ruin. The Brighton Pie...

The size and scale of the sandcastles were extensive. Thousands of hours had been spent shipping over special sand and many people helped to create a set of wonderful sand sculptures worthy of the kings of Egypt themselves. As this acient culture is one i have an interset in and teach to children in school, the detail was even more impressive than the photos give them credit. Enjoy the photos as much as i enjoyed taking them. The only problem is this was around for a short space of time. Havi...

I got to go to Brighton with Nikki today! It was soooo fun!!! Since Nikki came through Arcadia, and they have all these extra things that you get to do through that package, I got to sneak onto their trip to Brighton for only a fiver. Awesome. The morning was HECTIC. We left later than we should have, and we COULD have made it, but they were working on the Central Line from Marble Arch through past Notting Hill Gate, which is where we needed to meet to bus. EEE... So, of course, ...

So we began our road trip, learning the road rules as we went. There are classes of roads - M for motorway, A roads, B roads, and then country-type lanes, which are hedgelined death traps, only really wide enough for one car but people hoon along them anyway, somehow avoiding crashing!
We both had a go driving out of London for fun, then took the motorway...but had no idea of the speed limit as you are expected to know the limit for each type of road (not that anyone does it anyway!), which...

A Brighton-centric weekend.
I bought travelling shoes (Rohan, I have heard that they are good) and Chris and I bought Berghaus rucksacks. Tried them on in the shop and then found them £35 cheaper on the internet :-)It's a bit scary buying all the equipment as we're gonig to rely on it so much over the coming months. I have started wearing my shoes and they rub which disappoints me greatly, but then I guess that's the point of breaking them in before we go - better to have shoes that rub no...
