Cozy, Affordable Meals Oct 10, 2009
Bright Coffee is one of my favourite places to eat. If you're looking for a good Chinese restaurant in Wuhan China, look no further as you come across this place in Hubei University area.
Most meals are about 10RMB ($2 Canadian) for a nice big bowl or plate of food accompanied by a free bowl of seaweed soup (to aid in digestion) and tall glass of honey green tea. They also provide forks, spoons and chopsticks to meet the needs of their customers. You can leave your name or favourite quote on the wall as many have before but just be sure to bring your own pen! The seating includes comfy cusioned seats along the wall or cushioned chairs that are fairly big. Seating can be arranged to fit large groups or those couples looking for some alone time together. You can have a window view, sit near an air conditioner or even go back to the second room for a bit more privacy. All in all, it's a great place to hang out with friends, go for some "couples time" or even just eat alone at while flipping through a book or doing last minute work. Just be sure to brush up on your Chinese as no one speaks English! |

Also noteworthy is that today when Wei and I were going home from Bright Coffee the bus broke down at the bus stop. Immediately all the men started filing off the bus and I asked her if we had to get off it too. Apparently only the men get off and push the bus to help start it. I didn… The Red Cat Can Actually Teach! |

Last word, when Wei and I were on our way to BC (Bright Coffee) an elderly woman of maybe 80 was pulling a horizontal cart with empty, crushed boxes. Due to construction and the area being blocked off it was too narrow for her to get past a certain place without help. I didn't see what… The Red Cat Can Actually Teach! |

By about noon we decided to go eat at Bright Coffee and just walk around Hubei University since it dwarfs many neighbourhoods I know. On our way to cross the sidewalk Wei ran into an old friend and classmate. So she treated us to a drink, we went to Hubei University together and she called… A Handful of Time and Good Company to Boot |
