Bridge over the Zambezi River Reviews

Bridge Over the Zambezi River Jun 07, 2008
This kilometer-long suspension bridge crosses the Zambezi River in Tete, Mozambique. At the time of this picture (1995) it was the only bridge crossing the lower Zambezi River in Mozambique. The bridge was built under the Portuguese rule of Mozambique and designed by Edgar Cardoso. It provides a vital link between the northern and southern halves of the country.

This picture was taken at the Pemba Bar, a sometimes gruesome setting for long-neck Zambezi Beers. Crocodiles average about two villagers doing laundry each week; one Sunday, four.

Dan, I wonder how many construction workers were attacked by crocs during the building of this bridge?!?!? ;-) ~Jeff
