Welcome to the tourism and vacations guide for Bretagne. Browse Bretagne travel photos, Bretagne travel partners,
The stereotypical Breton hasn't changed all that much since the area was a last bastion of royalist, counter-revolutionary forces. Or, for that matter, since the Romans came in and imposed Chistianity in this Celtic land that juts into the Atlantic Ocean.
Bretagne is the place to head out to if you like old things that are worn out by the weather, simple, hearty food like galettes de ble noir with a bowl of hard cider, and little winding roads that'll take you bicycling through little towns that aren't in any guidebooks. The route along the coast is definately recommended when one's doing a road trip. Places like Mont Saint-Michel, Saint Malo, Brest, Camaret-Sur-Mer, Nantes and Carnac must surely be paid a visit.

St-Malo is super nice! It had a welcoming festive mood to it when you arrive. Getting in the intramuros feels like going to Disneyland or Universal Studio. There are lots of tourists walking around and looking happy. I see mostly couples, old and young though I didn’t see any Asian at all except for the two of us. Inside is full of cafés, creperies, and of course, souvenir shops. We got in at 6pm but the sky is still very bright. It normally doesn’t get dark here ...

Another WOW day, took a train this morning to St. James, France to the much smaller American Cemetery. I was picked up at the train station by "Alan", an American, who works at the cemetery and lives with his family near to the grounds. I FOUND MY UNCLES GRAVE SITE! How about that? I spent some time at his "cross", it was a neat experience to have the connection with someone that was involved and died in the biggest military operation in history. Alan showed...

We went to France by car. I had no problem with that, I just read a book, listen to some music, look out my window or talk. I'm not bored easily. So when we arrived, we had driven for, I think almost a whole day. Most of the time we stayed at our camping, I have no clue why that was. I was the only one who wanted to see more of the country then just the camping, this is why I don't like it very much to travel with a lot of family members, every one wants to do something else and that just d...
