Breda Vacation Guide
One of the bigger cities with 172,000 people in the province of North-Brabant in the south of the Netherlands. The city hosts the academy of arts, so there are a lot of young creative minds in the city. Breda has beautiful architecture and a historical city centre.
Besides its rich history, dating from 1125 when the city is first mentioned, the city is also the hometown of many tourism students from the International University of Tourism Studies. Many international students enjoy their stay in the city with the highest BAR DENSITY of the country! Over 160 bars on 1sq km.
Since 1828 the 'Koninklijke Militaire Academie' (Royal Netherlands Military Academy) is located in The Castle of Breda, situated in the heart of town.
The city centre is excellent for going out. Cafes, bars, restaurants and terrasses are all over the place. For every age is plenty to explore.
Breda is the home of football club NAC, very popular and famous for 'het avondje NAC' on the saturday-evenings they play at home in their Rat Verleghstadium.
