Bread Talk Shanghai Reviews
pastries, cakes and sweets Oct 19, 2011
Bread Talk is a Singaporean chain of self service bakeries that sells a wide range of breads, sweet and salted pastries and cakes.
On previous travels I visited branches in Kuta, Bali and Beijing and they all offer a similar concept to the branch at Nanjing Road.
There's a wide selection of items you can pick, spread out over various glass counters. The idea is to take your own tray and tweezers and scoop up whatever you fancy. This is then wrapped up at the register.
Apart from the pastries and hot drinks on the go, you can also buy full loafs of bread and order special birthday cakes etc...
I really like how they innovate and anticipate on what's going on. For example they had an "apple cake" as a tribute to Steve Jobs.
Again a great place to have breakfast or satisfy your sweet craving.
