Impressions from across Rio de Janeiro.....Cobacabana and Ipanema
Beaches, Downtown city life with lots of delicous barbeque restaurants
and awesome Caipirinhas in all strengths and flavors (!!), seeing why
soccer is so important for Brazilians, the so unbelievably beautiful
nature with its jungles, mountains, waterfalls, and the incredible long
coast. Culture and heritage which is one of a kind and for sure unique
in its ways.The
clock just ticks different in Brazil....and the greates...

Bûzios is known to be the South American Saint Tropez. It's a claw shaped penninsula with beautiful beaches, excellent restaurants and everything you can wish for on a holliday.

Well, after that week-end full of novelties for me, I had to go to my work conference from Monday to Thursday. It was pretty interesting as well, with very friendly people, and I managed to learn even more about Brasil. The conference was held at Hotel Gloria which is located in Gloria, just in front of Parque de Flamengo. The hotel is really cool, with two pools and beautiful surroundings. One of the managers of the hotel was also really nice and we kind of became friends, that's cool to make...

This, along with the coming journal entries, is coming very late, but what the hell. This was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. Very, very frightening though, but much more inside the plane that outside of it.

Rio was simply amazing. Food was as good as they said, the weather was mixed due to the winter season, hotel was nice and secluded, majority of the people were friendly, Corcovado and Sugarloaf is a must see.

Gee Willikers... I did not go to bed last night. Our wake up call was at 4:30 am, so I just stayed up. Rodrigo was supposed to be at the church by 5am, but he got there at 5:30. We said goodby to our rooms, the cad room, the computer room, our keys, oh yes... and the KITCHEN!! The sleep I got in the car is the only sleep I have had all day. We flew out of Brasil around 1:30 (Brasil time), which is weird because we have been in the air for a few hours and just a bit ago it ws 1:45 Panama...

Now we know what everyone is raving about when they talk about Brazilian beaches (and not to mention the horrendous prices here)!
We arrived in Paraty from Sao Paulo (the most dirty and disgusting looking city we have seen this far) at about 10pm. We wandered around for over an hour looking for somewhere to stay and thought we would be sleeping on the streets and no where had room, although it did help us to condition to the fact we would be paying about $120R ($70NZD) for a room! We went ba...

About and hour and a half before we landed in Sao Paulo, the flight attendants woke us for breakfast. It was pretty simple -- hot tea, yogurt, and a croissant. We landed at 8:05am local time (two hours ahead of Central Standard Time in Texas).
Sao Paulo's Airport is a typical concrete low slung building. For some reason the airline clerk had only checked my bag to Sao Paulo -- not Rio, so I had to claim it as first entry into Brazil, clear customs and re-check it for...

One of the most attractive activity in Brazil and particularly Rio is Samba, the famous Brazilian dance. Almost all people visiting Brazil seek to see Samba. It's not difficult as you can see it by chance in street parties. However, most of people will spend at least one night in Samba club.According to tourist interests, there are numerous Samba clubs in Rio hosting tourists, but what you'll see there is some kind of show as many foregin people are involved in the scene.Since I had many Braz...
