Brayshaw Museum Park Mar 02, 2008
There is so much to do at Brayshaw Museum Park, you can spend most of the day there just looking at all the features, and it is only 4 KM from Blenheim.
There is replica of early Blenheims streets with all the shops and businesses stocked with the old time goods, like a barbar shop. police staion with cells, Fire staion with several old fire engines, a printing shop, a drapers, a grocery store, a miliners hat maker shop,a small Lodge hall,Dress shop, Dentist and many others, built just as they were when the town was called Beavertown.
There a Model Railway you can ride on and a replica train with carrages that runs into Blenheim on weekends. A museum of farm vintage machinery, this includes a vary rare old tractor 11910 Blackstone, the only one known to exisit still. Many of the farm eqipment are in working order and sometimes are put to work on display. A vintage Car Club rooms houses hundreds of wonderful restored vintage vehicles, plus the Archives of Marlborough and the Marlborough provincial Museum, with some great displays of historic interest. There are also regular showings of film clips from our past.
One small drawback with this Heritage park is that there is no food available except for when the dispals are open, so take your own drink and something to nibble on.
