Brasstown Valley Resort Young Harris

I checked into Brasstown Valley Resort to get some relief from the summer heat in Atlanta. We booked their bed and breakfast program. We weren't expecting much since it was so far away from a city but my friend Tom told me about it and said it was worth a try. The place is huge the bellman said they have over 500 acres! Everything is done big from the entry drive, huge wooden ceiling over where the bellboy gets your bags to an enormous stone fireplace in the middle of the wooden ceiling (I don't know how they clean it but I couldn't find a cobweb and we looked). Our room was really nice and had movies to rent that hadn't even left theatres yet (I cut the kids off after two). Tom had told me about the dining room being the place for Steaks so we gave it a shot...he was right the food came out nice and hot and cooked the way we asked (everyone always screws up medium rare but not this time). After dinner we wandered down to Brassies which is their sports bar-ish restaurant. We had a few drinks and threw some darts then went outside and sat y the built in gas fire pit (I was a little drunk so I fell asleep it was so warm the bartender even brought me a blanket).

The next day we hit the golf course and really enjoyed it. The course is kept really nice and it's not so tough that it ruins your day. We had lunch from the drink cart and drinks of course (I had a bloody mary).

That afternoon, we toured Equani span and got a couples massage which was really nice. They don't kick you out the door as soon as your massage is done like some places, we kicked back and enjoyed a glass of wine in their relaxation room watching listening to music and just relaxing (I have to find out where their furniture is from, the lounge was so comfortable.

We had to leave that afternoon to go back and I still didn't get to do everything. We wanted to go on a ride at their stables (kids wanted a pony ride) but we just ran out of time. We are going to try to go back in October to see the leaves and take the kids on a Hayride too.

I'll let you know how that one went but I'm expecting it should be great.
