Brasserie des Brotteaux Lyon Reviews
Art Nouveau Bar and Brasserie May 11, 2009
We had a dinner with my daughter and his fiancé who live now in Surrey in this bar and brasserie, well located, opposite the ancient Brotteaux railway station in a chic area of Lyon.
Since 1913,this place offers good cuisine and a nice historic Art Nouveau decor carefully restored by the owner Emmanuel Faucon with a bar made of Villeroy and Bosch earthenware;moldings and tiles were handmade and are keeping unimpaired colors.
We had a 32 euro menu with 3 courses and cheese. The food of the new chef was decent except the beef of my daughter who ordered a very rare and got only a medium rare, and I din't really appreciate his calamari alla plancha a little too oily and overcooked!
We had as white wine a Macon Viré-Cléssé 2008 Domaine Laurent Huet(23 euro) and as red, halfbottle of Côtes du Rhône Crozes-Hermitage 2006 from Gilles Robin.
