Branson, Missouri - Branson - TravBuddy

Well, what can I say about Branson….its like any other tourist trap; littered with shops of cheap junk treasures, bluegrass music, expensive shows that are not all that appealing; at least to me. I have been to Branson twice and both times was an ok experience due to trying get around the town, which is a nightmare due to two-lane, backed up traffic with only a few routes to get around. I like to think of it as a miniature wannabe Vegas with lights and shows with the glamour. No I have never seen any shows in Branson but I have that to thank the obnoxious billboard signs of the shows along the road ways, which takes away the beautiful backdrop of the Ozark Mountains. The parts I do enjoy are the outlets malls, food and the Branson Landing. The Landing is a type of outdoor mall that fills any shoppers wants and needs with the river on one side. Also there are a few good places to stop and enjoy some good food, for instance Outback and the gator tail. If you’ve never had it, it’s a must to try. I think the best way to enjoy Branson and the surrounding areas is to enjoy the natural elements the Ozarks has to offer. Take a float trip thru a spring fed river, boat on Table Rock Lake or go horseback riding thru the mountains. I believe vacations are to be remembered as beautiful and not scheduled.
