Brandywine River Museum Reviews

Jun 30, 2006

A little bit outside of Philly, but a real gem --- located in Chadd's Ford, this museum features works by Andrew Wyeth...who lives nearby.  I believe Andy oversees the collection presented at any point in time, and you can almost gauge the mood he's in by the beautiful landscapes and still images on display.  You will rarely feel as relaxed and enchanted when strolling through this charming place...a real treat!

Andrew Wyeth has so many invigorating paintings...I am dumbstruck at how he can etch a gazillion wheat stalks to evoke a field being caressed by the wind...and the combination of artistry with an architecturally splendid building makes for quite an escape.  It is just beyond belief that one person has created so much art that he can revolve the display pieces and offer an entirely new landscape --- probably visited this paradise five times and can't recall seeing any pictures twice...WOW!
