SUNDAY:, DAY 3: Tired from drinking & trying to keep up with the young ones, we got up at 8:30am, had breakfast and finished the drive thru Glen Isla Mountains (Glen Coll & Glen Clonie) then to the town of Braemar & toured BRAEMAR CASTLE. It was built in 1628 L-plan & was beautiful with TURRETTS and lots of Daffodils in the front lawn. It was fully furnished and had a star shaped defensive curtain wall & a central round tower with a spiral staircase. Wh...

Braemar Castle, Reborn

This spring Braemar Castle opened to the public again for the first time in 3 years. Don't settle for that drive-by photo!  It's well worthy of a visit and desperately needing your support as they're in the process of repairing and refurbishing the castle -- we had a fantastic guide (thanks Peter!) and a most informative and interesting tour! Kudos to the kind and dedicated volunteers.
