Bourg-Madame, France is a small border town that makes up the other half of Catalonia's Cerdanya with Puigcerda, Spain. The Cerdanya is the eastern part of the Pyrenees; the land was split between France and Spain during the Treaty of the Pyrenees in 1659. Bourg-Madame is also part of the departement des Pyrenees Orientales.

Within the town, there is a museum of Contemporary Art (Espace d'Art Contemporain), mini golf and a small tourism office.

Nearby towns/cities include: Puigcerda, Spain; Llivia, Spain (a Spanish enclave); Andorra and Barcelona (2 hours away by car).

Bourg-Madame, France is a quaint little border town just past Spain's Tunel de Cadi in the Pyrenees Mountains.  We stopped here for a brief break and to take some photos.  Had there not been a sign indicating that we had entered France, we would have never known that we crossed to border until we saw some signs written in French.
