Great Vacation! Aug 16, 2010
I visited Las Vegas with friends to spend the holiday vacation and stayed at Boulder Dam Hotel which was located in Boulder City. I booked double bed guest room for four friends and really enjoyed.

The room was quite comfortable and decorated with all necessary amenities like air condition, Wi-Fi, TV, computer, board games, fireplace and piano. We were very happy and satisfied with the decision we made regarding our stay at this hotel.

Interior was interesting and all the things were perfect and decked with dressing table, luxury lamps, comfy bed curtains and carpets were also good. Staff was really helpful and caring which I really like.

After relaxation and took a lunch we visited nearby attraction like bicycle riding trails, Boating, Fishing, Golfing, Hiking trails and Kayaking. We also visited their shopping centre and buy different kinds of stuff especially t-shirts and sketcher.

We also recommend this hotel especially couples because it has wedding facilities as well.

Regards,

Historic, haunted and hidden outside of Las Vegas hype. Jan 14, 2009
Okay, so this one is in my town but I really wanted to share it with you. I have had relatives and friends stay and be very pleased as well as just going in to treat myself. The place was one of the first things the community built back in the days of building the Hoover Dam. We live in another time out here. I have wanted to offer you some of the things I have learned while living here. Our 2008 snow storm inspired me so here goes but remember we are in a desert here so the pictures will look different than it usually is. The Lake is truly a desert playground for boaters but if you are in Las Vegas, just get on the highway and drive toward AZ. The Hoover Dam is on the NV/AZ border but on your right as you are on your way to the Dam or the Lake, you will see Boulder City. Just keep going straight instead of turning left at the "Grocery store" stop light and you will drive right into my town. Almost at the end of Main Street you will want to turn right to get to the Hotel. It will take you into the 1934 feeling when you walk in. The desk is right at the door but I have always liked the grand piano that waits for fingers in the big room to the right of the doors. The dining room is to the left but before the dining room doors you will notice the stairs that go down to the jazz club. Yes, on Friday nights we get to hear the best sounds down there and the Yager machine is always on for iced delights. The rooms are upstairs from the piano room and you will see what it must have been like for the more well to do in the thirties. The rooms have been improved but not changed so much that you feel like you are in Vegas. There is another area up there that has the Art Guild showroom where you will be able to see some of the work by our local artists. You will also find shops to keep you busy but really, we are a community for tourists so if you are shoppers, well, you will find antique stores and clothing stores and craft stores and even a thrift store on Main Street that provides funding for a pre-school around the corner. Be sure and tell Tricia, the manager, that Nancy said to say hello. If you are hungry, just walk along Main for Pizza at Tony's, the best pizza in town, or maybe you will go for a little Tuscan flavor at Milo's Wine Bar. It is next door to Tony's. But then again you may just want a burger and The Coffee Cup will do just fine. They open their bar in the evening but during the day it is a family kind of place. Great breakfast, too. All three spots have patio seating which is nice when our paradise weather comes along. There is another place to remember, though you will find plenty to do that I haven't made room for here. It's just that the Brew Pub brews their own beer and on Friday and Saturday nights you will find acoustic guitar and song. I really like their outdoor area with the grape vines and big tables and all the stars overhead. Good times. Oh, I forgot, when the day gets too hot, our favorite place is Gramma Daisy's and it is across the parking lot from the hotel. They make their own ice cream and candies in there. The local kids keep them open just for the candy. I like the way they stock candy with labels from my childhood. Remember choc. in silver foil that was labeled Ice Cubes? MMMMMmmmmmmm.

Well, that catches you up on some of the local haunts. I do hope you can come when our festivals are happening. It's all walking distance from the Hotel. Heck, the courtyard will usually have music if a festival is on. My favorite is the music festival called Spring Jamboree. Our locals all come out after the long winter and make music together for two days and nights. Yeah, we get the Vegas music makers, too, but the locals will charm you. They try to schedule it the second weekend of May so do yourself a favor and check the Chamber Of Commerce website for details. Of all the places I end up, I can honestly say, I do love the mornings back home. I have to add, the stars at night out here just thrill me sometimes. Course, I live here so I'm kind of partial. :o)
