Moved mom to Boulder City NV.

THIS WAS A LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG DAY. WE WOKE UP AT 5:30AM. TO BE AT THE ORLEANS HOTEL BY 6:50AM. SITTING IN A VAN FOR AN HOUR. IT WAS A COLD DAY. THEN IN THE PLANE FOR AN HOUR........WE DID NOT LAND ON THE GRAND CANYON WEST RIM TIL ABOUT 9:30AM. WE HAD PLENTY OF TIME TO CHECK OUT THE SKYWALK AND EA…

Phil and I took a bus to the Grand Canyon for a day. It wasn't enough time to really appreciate the canyon but we have promised eachother to make it a goal to hike into the canyon one day!

This travel blog basically a collection of pictures I took, while I was in the western United States in September 2008.

Las Vegas was 114 degrees as we left for Boulder City NV to see Hoover Dam; HOTTT! Desert for 30 miles to Boulder. After Hoover Dam more desert for 90 miles to Kingman AZ and 115 miles to Williams AZ; finally got relief near Willams. Temperature dropped 50 degrees to 64 & it rained. Stayed in Williams with plans to visit Grand Canyon tomorrow. Kingman and Williams are part of Route 66, "The Mother Road"; both towns make effort to highlight their historical past.

Fremont Street and Las Vegas Blvd on St. Paddy's day, Hoover Dam and Lake Mead on Easter and then the Grand Canyon. And just a little drinking and gambling.

I LIVE IN LAS VEGAS SO WE SPENT THE NIGHT SO CLOSE TO HOME.BOULDER CITY IS NEXT DOOR BUT A WORLD AWAY.WE STAYED AT THE OLD BOULDER DAM HOTEL AND EVERYTHING WAS GREAT.

Loved Las Vegas, I would love to go again and again. Would be a great time to go with group of family and/or friends. I have been here 2 times. both with groups of friends, what a blast! I have stayed at the Bellagio and the Flamingo. For the little bit of time you spend in your room, I would recommend getting a less expensive hotel, unless money is not an option. I am not a big gambler, so if you think vegas is not for you because you don't gamble, don't worry~ there is so much more to do:)
