An afternoon at the Botanic Gardens in Utrecht Jun 24, 2010
The University of Utrecht is quite big. They have many studies and buildings. One part of the university are the Botanic Gardens. These are located on "The Uithof", on the east side of Utrecht. The Botanic Gardens are the home to many plants, flowers and even butterflies.

I visited the gardens a few days ago and found it very nice, big and peaceful. The entrance fee is 6.50 euros and you get a free map of the gardens. I started in the rock garden and followed the path to the butterflies, theme gardens and system gardens. In front of almost every flower and plant there is a name tag with its Dutch and Latin name. There were also some other information boards with content about some of the plants.

The gardens themselves are very quiet en peaceful. I could not hear any disturbing sounds, such as cars or trains. Take a look at the pictures to get an idea of what the gardens look like. I can recommend the Botanic Gardens to everyone interested in plants, flowers and a quiet afternoon out.
