It's a cliched thing innit? Visit the US, you've GOT TO visit the East Coast and see the autumn foliage, or "Fall Colors" as the locals would put it. But no matter how many people have gone, how many have brought back pictures for us to see and how many of us have seen it, it's always great seeing it again and again. So I jumped at the opportunity when my friend invited me to go camping with his group. Our camp was right outside a lake overlooking a bunch of trees in various colours. Very imp…

Generally, the east coast isn't one of my favorite places. I'm used to warm weather, scrub covered hills, and flip-flops, there they have cold, whole forests of trees, and dress shirts. Boston though, isn't bad. ...in the spring and fall, in cleared areas... My friend swears there's good surf there, but he wears a 7mm wet suit and hood to do it.It's interesting to me that it's so old. I'm used to a historical site being maybe 50 or 60 years old; in Boston there are 300 year old buildings…

Chowda with crackers and lobsters dipped in butter. White shiny ice skates and warm cheerful laughter. Bright copper ducklings lined up in a row. These are a few of my favorite things... My ongoing tribute to Beantown life, food and fun!

Boston is home to the oldest Park in America, the Boston Common. Yes, this park is a great place to people watch, play football, or check out the awesome fall foliage. Autumn in New England is pretty incredible. It's also a great place to take naps. However, there are weird statues of naked babies feeding birds. That's sort of trippy...

Of course I was in Boston more than just once but somehow i clearly remember that day. It was mid-october. My friend from Ukraine had her flight back home on this day. And my boyfriend and I had to give her a ride to Logan airport. It was somewhat sad because I had to leave in a week after her. So it was like a rehearsal for me: wake up early, 1 and a half hour drive to Boston, Delta shuttle, wandering around the airport, helping out my friend to check in her luggage, taking goodbye pictures …

Whilst we were in Boston, we were fortunate enough to visit Chowderfest. This is basically a one day competition, where Boston's resturants battle it out, to have their clam chowder named the best. Once a resturant has won the competition three times, they are no longer allowed to take part.
This year there were fourteen resturants competing and the crew of the SS WASP.
For our $10 entrance fee we were allowed to sample as many and as much chowder or chowdah as the Bostonians call it a…
