Straying from the Freedom Trail, I went to the Boston Tea Party Ship & Museum, which has a replica ship and a museum on the event. It is not on the spot, since that area has a highway built over it. I went in, and it started off with a presentation of a rally, to get people all fired up to dump…

Feelin in the mood to eat some chowda and watch the Lakers take it to the Celtics (talk about a &$%$#ing let down), Big Boy and I made a trip back east to Boston. We spent a week eating oysters, smoking cigars, drinking scotch and wandering the North End. While there, the photo crew (and I list…

Last year I celebrated my 21st birthday while living in Boston. As an Irish guy, I've been used to drinking legally since I was 18 (and illegally for a few years before that!), and one of the hardest things to cope with was the stupid law in the U.S. that you have to be 21 to drink alcohol, and con…

Friday turned out to be an uneventful day. We woke up early and headed to the airport, fully prepared to spend the entire day there. I would have said "bright and early" but it was raining, of course. Why would anyone expect it to be doing anything else? I felt bad because it was so early that we d…

For the past couple of years I've kept my travel journal at http://travel-on.livejournal.com/ and now I am importing some of the recent entries (as time permits) to this profile. I really enjoy writing about my travels and I hope at least somebody will enjoy reading about my travels...even if …

Every year beginning in 2002 I have been traveling as a birthday present to myself. In 2006 I selected Boston as the destination of choice. After all, accommodations were a no-brainer since I had a niece and her husband recently relocate to the city. I had heard so much about Boston's c…

I found a $200 flight (RT) in the dead of Winter and decided to visit my first city on the East Coast. Who can turn that down? I didn't go on the duck tour, but I lucked out and had moderate weather (dry even) and explored the historical sites by day and nightlife in the pm. Very impressed with the city and accessibility to various sites via the 'T'. I even caught a Celtics game. Good times!

Okay since Maureen took the day off from work, we decided to cover a bit more of the city. We made our way down to the Boston Aqaurium. Man that place looks huge. We were gonna go in, but then we saw the long lines of school kids. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind kids at all nor does Maureen. But h…

It's a cliched thing innit? Visit the US, you've GOT TO visit the East Coast and see the autumn foliage, or "Fall Colors" as the locals would put it. But no matter how many people have gone, how many have brought back pictures for us to see and how many of us have seen it, it's always great seeing …

Today my group went to the Children's Clothing Exchange. At first, we sorted children's winter clothing into boxes by size to make room for the children's spring clothing. Then, me, Priscilla, Brad, and Lynn were assigned to a really messy room filled with strollers, car seats, and baby baths. Our …
