Boscolo Grand Hotel Lyon

This hotel looks like so many others in France, it's hard to know what to expect. When it comes to the Grand Boscolo, set your expectations low. This hotel is in desparate need of attention. It's listed as 4* and in my opinion 2* is pushing it.

The hotel is in a fantastic location, the river on one side and the Old Town just a short walk on the other.

I travel,alot, and when I tell you than this place is rundown, this is no exaggeration. I've stayed in hostels that were more up to date, cleaner, and cheaper, even in capitol cities.

The wallpaper was dirty and patched in one area. It looked so bad. The furniture had chips in the wood not touched up and the carpet was not clean. The bath was small and marginally clean......just marginally.

The bed was a bit saggy, either needs replacement or flipping??? The pillows are flat. You have to fold them over for better use.

The breakfast buffet was okay. There wasn't much choice but, what was there was fresh.
