Bosaso Overview

Bosaso is a city of Northern Somalia is the Capital of Bari Region. It is the main sea port to the Northeastern autonomous macro region of Somalia known as Puntland. During the early era of Somali civil war, Bosaso remained peaceful comparing to the other areas of the country. Today, Bosaso is known as the pirate hub of Red Sea.
Formerly known as Bender Qasim, the city was known in the name of an ancient trader who settled in Bosaso durinh 14th century.
Bosaso is accessible by air, sea, or road. Bosaso airport has flights to Dubai, Yemen, Djibouti, Ethiopia, and Kenya. Being the commercial hub of Puntland, Bosaso also hosts the largest population in the region.
