for a nice little break in the day... Oct 22, 2008
This coffee shop is located in the first level of an old frat house. It can be a little hard to find since there aren't any huge signs. It's in the middle of the block between university ave and 4th st se. It is a typical coffee shop in that it offers the typical fair for drinks at the average price. They get their coffee from white rock roasters which is local in saint paul and the their loose leaf teas are from mrs. kelly's teas which is also local. The reason i'm rating it as cheap is that their food is a steal! They offer breakfast fare such as granola, bagels muffins, and scones. They also offer lunch with an assortment of sandwiches, a couple soup options and a daily quiche option. They've always got a display stocked full of sweets and what not. They've got some of the best pumpkin bread i've ever had; the same goes for chocolate bread! All the food they have is prepared fresh on site and they've also got a few vegan options every day!

So, enough about the food. I love the atmosphere of the place. It feels just like i'm at home. They've got plenty of tables considering it's right next to campus. They've got a couch with two big comfy chairs right in front of the fireplace. This place just has a very comforting feel to it. It's usually not too loud since it's usually full of students studying. It does usually fill up for lunch though. They've also got a conference room that can be reserved for free. Overall, I love this place; it's a nice escape from the immaturity/loudness often found on campus.
