Nice Enough Nov 01, 2010
Strategically located in station 2, between two 4 or 3 star resorts (boracay regency/boracay mandarin). Good points : really nice location right smack in the middle of action, near d'mall, nice part of the beach. A little too expensive for my taste especially that the only good thing i can mention is the location and all the positive things that go with it. The rooms are big enough for more than 3 people though they only accommodate 4 max in a room at a time. Tv is old and our remote control doesn't work for most of the time, cable is provided though. Clean enough but old and there are bed bugs. I checked out 3 days ago and i still have bite marks. Breakfast isn't included in the rate during off peak season. This is a star above the other rooms for rent but if you want average luxury and no bed bugs, this is not your place.

A hotel that needs upgrading Jul 15, 2008
First of all, do not be mislead with this hotel's name, as it is not at all affiliated with the Peninsula chain of hotels.

Boracay Peninsula is nicely situated in Station 2 of Boracay, the middle part of White Beach so it is accessible to the market, the stores and the bars. It is also beach front so you just step out of your room and voila, the beautiful beach of Boracay island would be in front of you.

This hotel's got a potential actually, as it's got a nice design with even a pool in the middle. However, wear and tear over time is inevitable and this hotel definitely

needs some upgrading. It would definitely boost their hotel to look more like a hotel and not some rugged old building turned hostel. Notwithstanding that it is sandwiched between two nice and new hotels and it definitely looked out of place. The Korean restaurant in front (I'm not sure if it is part of this hotel), also does not help in giving class as the restaurant looked like some unappealing cafeteria, such a pity with a nice view of the beach, they could have at least made some effort to give some nice ambiance.

Boracay Peninsula's need for upgrading extends to their rooms too. The room is too dark and they don't have much room amenities, no complimentary bottled water and no hairdryer. There is no internet connection in the room but wifi access is available at their reception area (they don't have their own computers) but it is not quite comfortable because the reception is an open area with only 1 available outlet to plug in your computer and being an open area, you can't do

anything to protect your computer and yourself when the wind blows with sand.

Hotels in boracay usually have beach chairs conveniently placed in front of the hotel, along the beach, for their guests' use.

Boracay Peninsula do have some beach chairs too but you have to ask them for it. As you can see, the service is not really of hotel quality.

Lastly, while they do accept credit cards for payment, do not be surprised if they tell you that their system is offline and you'd have to pay in cash. It happened to us upon check out and good thing we checked out way ahead of time and the shops area (called D'Mall) is just nearby and there was an ATM there and I was able to withdraw some cash, otherwise, we would've missed our flight (from Boracay island to Caticlan airport, it takes 30 to 45 minutes).
