Boomland Charleston Reviews
Not just fireworks Apr 28, 2010
Boomland is certainly an interesting place. Located at the Charleston, Missouri exit on Interstate 57, (plus locations in Benton, MO and Ozark, MO) there are advertisements for miles about their discount-rate fireworks. But, it is so much more than fireworks. There is a large convenience store, selling all sorts of candy and baked goods (both local and national-brands) and a variety of local goodies, like pickled bologna or pickled quail eggs or pickled, well pickled anything. And, barbecue sauces and spice rubs; jams and molasses.
There is a section of Boomland that has souvenirs and home decor. (The rather kitschy stuff, if you ask me). But, there is another section that displays oak furniture. I wanted so badly to be able to afford the furniture, especially an amazing oak bookshelf.
There is a restaurant, but I didn't eat there. (You are 10 miles from one of the greatest restaurants in the world: Lambert's, in Sikeston, MO -- check out my review).
Boomland has a little bit of everything, surely you can find some goodies!
