Bokeo is a tiny village at the river Mekong opposite the thai town of Chiang Saen in the golden triangle. It is possible to cross the river with tiny boats and to get a day permission to enter Laos.
Bokeo has a market with all type of touristic goods: false T-Shirts, silk scarfs, wooden kitsch and schnapps with dead snakes or scorpios in it...question of taste.

No we did not see any monkeys! We hike dour butts off for 3 days, up and down, up and down...then glided up and down, up and down...I gotta say, although the only animals we saw after paying a 250 dollars fee for 3 days were mice crawling voer our heads throughout the night, it was so much fun the ziplines! The beauty of seeing the nautal landscape of Laos at the butt crack of dawn upon your own tree house 30 meters from the ground and ziplining across the forest was...wow...just something to...

It was exciting to cross the borders of all 3 countries of the golden triangle in one day. First we visited the Opium museum in Thailand, thann crossed the Mekong with a small boat. The market o the laotian side was a bit shabby but the people were friendly and the snake schnapps interesting to see...
