Nice resort with great beach May 31, 2011
Bohol Beach Club is an expansive resort with a great beach. Lots of amenities like volleyball, tennis, several pools. Lots of rooms to choose from, be it garden-side, pool-side or beachfront. Rooms are of average size, but are outdated. Could use an upgrade. The pools are a bit small but they are nice. The beach has fine white sand. Peaceful, not a lot of guests. A few tanning beds are available for you to relax. The water is clean, with a few leaves here and there. Beware of sea urchins in the middle of the beach. No jellyfish or algae in sight.

Affordable hotel on a most beautiful beach Feb 12, 2011
Stayed three nights. It was expensive but was worth it. The beach is great for swimming, snorkelling or just playing with the kids as the water is not too deep even away from the shore. Beautiful clean white sand. Courteous and accommodating staff. Breakfast buffet tho not much choice was good. Good ambiance. There's a choice of well maintained swimming pools which is a plus. Great place to relax and take long walks on the beach. I was walking by myself along the beach very early morning and I felt safe. Starfish, colourful sea urchins hiding in the rocks, crabs, shell and corals can be found at low tide which makes it interesting to photograph. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Money's worth resort Apr 28, 2010
This is good value for its price. We only paid P3K per standard room per night inclusive of free buffet breakfast (choice between 2 restaurants - filipino and international), free glass boat ride and free welcome drinks using a gift voucher offered to us. the published rate for the same room is P4k plus so we got at least a thousand discount for each room and each night of stay. The rooms are decent and with extra bed and the usual amenities and toiletries included. Rooms are cleaned and linens changed everyday unless u request not to. Very good customer service based on our experience. They have a nurse on call and the staff/lifeguard could easily administer small cuts/wounds. Dinners usually are quite special with cultural show or just chilling rnb music played live along the beach while enjoying your buffet dinner. They also offer a massage along the beach shores. The best feature i like on this resort is their's picture/postcard perfect esp with the green blue sea and the white, simply paradise. Best to swim on the beach in the morning, during high tide bec when it's low tide, you'll be farther from shore and will be walking on some spiky corals. On the closest part of the shore is a bit rough sand with pebble sized corals broken down by the waves but a few steps toward the sea, you will find very fine sand which is just perfect :)

High quality maintained facilities and landscape with a great beach Jan 06, 2010
For me, Bohol Beach Club has the best shoreline and beach along Alona beach of Bohol's Panglao island. During low tide, you'll have a treat of seeing star fishes and sea urchins on the beach and you can go meters away from the shore and the beach is still not deep. The sand is white and fine.

This resort also has a very good landscape and the rooms, while simple and basic, are also clean and nice. They also have two lovely swimming pools and two restaurants that serve Filipino and Western food.

The staff are also nice, helpful and friendly. and they speak very good English ;)

It just gets a little annoying though when you stray outside the resort's vicinity by the beach because when you come back to the resort thru the beach area, the guards will always ask if you are guests of the resort. But oh well, it is for your own security anyways.

I have stayed in this resort twice (once in February 2007 and then January 2010) and they have consistently maintained the high quality of their resort. They have picture perfect sceneries.

Just look at the pictures and you'll see what I mean.

Family friendly hotel with excellent water activities Jul 09, 2009
This review is for my stay there back in 2006, I've just copied & pasted it here from another travel website.

I've been to resorts before but usually just for a day trip. I took my parents and my brother here for a mini-holiday, partly as a 25th wedding anniv present for my folks. Food was ok, my bro and I love pasta so we ordered it and got average food. My folks were surprisingly pleased with their fisherman's basket aka seafood basket, but I've seen better. I ate most of the green mango and bagoong in that basket instead. LOL

What I've noticed about the toilets in the Philippines is that they're not "strong" or "powerful" enough to flush down tissue paper. My bro encountered a nasty incident with the toilet when he flushed the tissues down, it basically clogged up the toilet. We had to run to our parents' bedrooms and use their toilet instead. LOL

We stayed in the new area of the resort. The other person who reviewed this place is correct, the service from the reception desk was OK. The service from the restaurant was good though and the masseurs were friendly.

I loved the massage by the beach, very calming. I wish I had time to kayak etc.

We also checked out Pamilacan Island and joined the dolphin/whale watching tour. Spent 3 hours in the middle of the ocean, quite scary when you think about it. Oh well. It was part of the adventure.

Met some lovely people there, I wouldn't mind going back there again. ^_^

Liked — The clear waters, the white sand, the people I met, the resort was awesome.

Disliked — The damn toilets LOL

Disappointing Tourist Trap Mar 08, 2009
Though Bohol Beach Resort has one of the nicest stretches of beach in Bohol, I found as a whole the whole experience to be rather disappointing. Considering the excellent food normally found in Bohol, the resort's restaurants left much to be imagined. The resort regularly hosts large groups like the one I was with which made me think they would be much more capable. Clearly, I was wrong.

The room I stayed in was located in the centre of the resort, by one of the three pools. Clearly, these were the oldest rooms in the hotel as they were well worn and quite run down. I believe we paid more to have poolside rooms but I'd stick to the Standard room if I were to go again. Those rooms are newer but smaller. The rooms had tons of mosquitos and creepy crawlies that never slept.

The biggest disappointment was the service. The only truly helpful staff were in the business centre. I tried to explain to the bartender (there's a small pool bar in the centre of the resort) that they shouldn't leave the phone ringer on through the night because all of the guests near the pool can year it through the night. I got nowhere. Also, because the resort does host large groups for team building etc., beware of the noise. They allow these groups to use whatever equipment they want, even hosting large concerts on the beach well in to the night when all the guests can hear.

Overall, not a great place to stay. It's too large and really run down. It's too bad that it has one of the best beaches in Bohol.
