no need to go to the zoo to feed the deer. Jul 09, 2012
two weeks ago, my travbuddy friend from singapore came. we went to Bogor for a little shopping and we stopped in front of Bogor presidential palace because we wanted to feed the deer.

deer? yeah, there were about 30 to 50 deer at bogor presidential palace. we couldn't get inside the presidential palace, but we could feed the deer through the gates.

we bought two bunches of carrots, and feed the deer. it was fun! the deer were super hungry they pulled the carrot really hard.

instead of feeding the deer, my travbuddy friend chose to take pictures of the palace. the palace is quite big, with a reaaallly big garden.

Bambi on the presidential palace lawn!! Jan 08, 2011
Bogor Presidential Palace used to be "Istana Buitenzorg", or the country retreat of the Indonesian president. It is not open for public, but the main attraction beside the palace complex seen from the street is the 800 or so presidential deers kept inside the gated complex. They are spotted deers not native to the country but brought in years and years ago from mainland Asia. They are so cute nonetheless!!
